Club Mission Statement
To create a successful cricket club which serves the local community in and around Thames Ditton by providing high quality opportunities for playing cricket; providing cricket development opportunities for all ages; is open to all irrespective of age, gender, ethnicity or disability; and provides a social environment that welcomes playing and non-playing members alike.
Aims of the Club
Aim 1: Harness and develop all young cricketers so they have the opportunity to
contribute to the game of cricket at all levels and play a central role in club cricket life. The aim of the club is to ensure all young players have access to quality facilities, coaching and playing opportunities. Through achieving clubmark we aim to raise the standard of facilities, coaching and development across the youth section. We aim to actively participate in the Surrey Trust competitions to provide the highest quality playing opportunities. We aim to provide the opportuinity for all children to reach the level of their potential in a safe and encouraging environment.
Aim 2: Develop and strengthen a structure and pathway for women and girls to actively participate in and follow cricket. Girls are encouraged to participate in the colts section. Through our links with the Ditton Guiding Association we aim to promote the club to more girls. We aim to establish a girls junior team.
Aim 3: Develop and strengthen the whole club environment, promoting cricketing opportunities for disabled people.
Aim 4: Develop and promote cricket for black and ethnic minorities. We aim to be a diverse and inclusive club. Through our links with West Indian Cricket, and having Richie Richardson as our overseas player, we will promote the club to a diverse membership.
Aim 5: Ensure that our cricket club is an integral part of the local community, contributing an invaluable service to all sections of the local community, developing club members, supporters and volunteers.
We aim to grow our social membership and promote the club as a vital part of the village community building on a history that stretches back 177 years. Through our lettings offer, we aim for the pavilion to be used and enjoyed by the wider community. The club provides oportunity for members of the community to take on officer roles and develop their leadership and organisational skills. We actively encourage support and volunteering, particlarly with respect to junior cricket.
